Founded from a fascination with nautical aesthetics and a lifetime’s experience in materials and construction, our passion at TensArch merges sound engineering, functional shade and aesthetically appealing architecture to create tensioned fabric structures that compliment their environment seamlessly.
Roots & Inspiration
A father and son team, Neil and Brydon Roe spent their early years on the shores of the great lakes in eastern Canada. While Neil worked in heavy construction, Brydon and his younger brother owned and operated a windsurfing shop, collectively fostering a fascination with building and marine rigging.
Years on, now owning a dock and deck building business, Neil was first introduced to tensile architecture while visiting his sons in Australia. Noticing how architecturally pleasing and impressive they were, Neil and Brydon returned home with the intent of adding Shade Sails to their product line, a first in the Canadian market.
Shade Sails Canada was founded in 2000 and has now grown into two separate companies; Shade Sails Canada, supplying pre-cut and custom-made Shade Sails to the residential sector and TensArch, fabricating custom-engineered fabric structures for both large and small-scale commercial applications.
From our early roots, becoming the first company to sell shade sails in Canada to our extensive knowledge of materials and construction, TensArch offers un unrivalled level of experience and professionalism. Taking an uncompromising approach to material selection, we offer the highest quality fabric structures on the market and take great pride in our intimate, one-on-one approach to customer service.
